A puja is a traditional ritual of worship. You do not need to travel to India: priests perform the ritual on your behalf and include you in their prayers.
what is a puja?
Puja is the central form of worship in Hinduism. The priest invites a deity, offers flowers, fruit, incense, light and water, and recites mantras. Pujas are held on festival days, for personal occasions or – in Jyotish – in relation to a person’s chart.
Who performs the pujas?
Most pujas are performed by Brahmin priests in temples in South India, mainly in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Some pujas I perform myself in my home temple in Austria. Each puja states who performs it.

How do you take part?
- Choose a puja and pay.
- Give the name and Moon nakshatra of each person the prayers are for. If you don’t know the nakshatra, give the date, time and place of birth and we will calculate it.
- The puja takes place – on the stated date or, for personal pujas, at an auspicious time. The priest speaks your name and nakshatra in the sankalpa, the formal statement of intention at the start of the ritual.
- You receive photos or a video of the ritual by email.
festival pujas
Festival pujas take place on the major holidays of the Hindu calendar, on days traditionally dedicated to a particular deity. Each puja has its own date; you book each one separately.
monthly puja membership
With the membership you are included in all regular pujas for one month. The dates follow the lunar calendar, so it becomes a regular spiritual practice rather than a one-off ritual. Each regular puja can also be booked on its own.
ancestor rites
In Indian tradition the departed are remembered regularly, especially on Amavasya, the new moon day. The remembrance is seen as gratitude to the ancestors, a prayer for their peace and a blessing for the living family.
individual pujas
Individual pujas are performed personally – for one person or one family. Most of them can be performed either by me in my home temple in Austria or by a Brahmin priest at a temple in South India; each card shows both options.
